NASCAR Martinsville 2026: My Picks, Best Bets & Pool Lineup for the Cook Out 400

NASCAR Martinsville 2026 My Picks, Best Bets & Pool Lineup for the Cook Out 400

Welcome back to Driving on Marbles race fans! We’re going short track racing this week and honestly I’ve been looking forward to this one since the schedule dropped back in the fall.

Martinsville Speedway is one of the most unique and demanding venues in all of motorsport and the Cook Out 400 is a race where track history, tire management, and braking performance matter more than almost anything else on the 2026 calendar. If you’ve read the Top 20 Driver Rankings post from earlier this week you already know the full breakdown. This is where we turn that research into picks.

Let’s get into this weeks post.

NASCAR Martinsville 2026: This Week’s Top 20 Driver Rankings for the Cook Out 400

could you create this weeks blog post image for my drivingonmarbles website with the post title NASCAR Martinsville 2026: This Week's Top 20 Driver Rankings for the Cook Out 400

Hey race fans, welcome back to Driving on Marbles! Happy Wednesday and welcome to race week at one of my absolute favourite stops on the entire NASCAR schedule.

The Cup Series is heading to Martinsville Speedway this Sunday for the Cook Out 400 and honestly I couldn’t be more excited about this one. Martinsville is a completely different animal from anything we’ve seen so far in 2026. We’ve had superspeedways, road courses, a flat one-mile oval, a 1.5-mile intermediate, and last week the unique challenge of Darlington. But nothing on this schedule prepares you for what Sunday is going to feel like at the paperclip.

Martinsville is a 0.526-mile half-mile oval that is absolutely brutal on brakes and tires. The straights are only 800 feet long. Drivers are nose-diving into these turns, braking as hard as they can, and then slamming on the throttle coming out of Turns 2 and 4 to get back to as much speed as the straights will allow before doing it all over again.

Four hundred laps of that. It’s a grind and it’s glorious and the winner gets a grandfather clock instead of a trophy because Martinsville does things its own way.

The big storyline heading in is whether Tyler Reddick can make it five wins from seven races or whether the field finally figures out how to stop him. Interestingly, Reddick is not the favourite this week. Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin are the early market leaders heading into Sunday. There’s a reason for that and we’ll get into it below.

Green flag drops at 3:30 PM ET this Sunday March 29. Here’s your full top 20 breakdown based on the current Cup Series standings.

Let’s get into it!

Goodyear 400 Recap: Reddick’s Historic Season Rolls On at the Lady in Black

Four wins in six races. A battery failure, no cool suit, and a late-race incident. Tyler Reddick didn't care. He won anyway.

NASCAR-Darlington-2026-Goodyear-400-recap

Hey race fans, welcome back to Driving on Marbles! What a Sunday afternoon at Darlington Raceway.

If you tuned in expecting a clean, tidy race to whoever had the fastest car, well, you clearly haven’t spent much time watching the Lady in Black do her thing.

The Goodyear 400 delivered exactly what Darlington always promises: drama, tire falloff, pit road chaos, and a winner who had to earn every single inch of it.

And that winner was Tyler Reddick. Again!

Four wins in six races, folks. Reddick joins Hall of Famers Dale Earnhardt (1987) and Bill Elliott (1992) as the only drivers in NASCAR Cup Series history to win four of the first six races in a season.

Think about that company for a second. Earnhardt. Elliott. Reddick. The man is writing history in real time and if you’re not watching this season closely you’re honestly missing something special.

Let’s get into how it all went down in this week’s race recap.

Welcome back to Driving on Marbles racefans! It’s Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway and I couldn’t be more fired up about this one. This is genuinely one of my favourite weekends on the entire NASCAR calendar and this year’s Goodyear 400 has all the ingredients to be an absolute classic.

NASCAR Darlington 2026: Top 20 Driver Rankings for the Goodyear 400

Tire wear, track history, and 2026 momentum all factored in as we rank the top 20 drivers heading into NASCAR Throwback Weekend

This-Weeks-Top-20-Rundown-Goodyear-400-at-Darlington-Raceway-Drivingonmarbles

Hey everyone, welcome back to Driving on Marbles! We’ve got a really fun race week ahead of us because the NASCAR Cup Series is heading to one of my absolute favorite stops on the entire schedule. Darlington Raceway is calling and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

If you’ve never watched a race at Darlington before, let me tell you, you’re in for a treat this Sunday. They don’t call it the Track Too Tough to Tame for nothing. The Lady in Black is a 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval that’s been humbling NASCAR’s best drivers since 1952, and she hasn’t gotten any easier with age. The racing groove is narrow, the walls are close, and if you push too hard for too long, the track will find a way to remind you who’s in charge. Tire management is everything here. Experience matters more at Darlington than almost anywhere else on the schedule, and Sunday’s race has all the ingredients to be an absolute barnburner.

Both Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe have already been talking about how severe the tire fall-off is expected to be this weekend, and if those two are excited about it, you know we’re in for something special. Sunday’s race runs 293 laps across three stages, with that final 137-lap stage being where races at Darlington are truly won and lost.

Green flag drops at 3:00 PM ET this Sunday March 22. Here’s my full top 20 breakdown heading into race weekend, based on the current NASCAR Cup Series standings.

Let’s get into it!
