Fantasy NASCAR Picks for Darlington 2025: Best Bets, Sleepers & Strategy for the Goodyear 400

Driving-on-Marbles-Fantasy-NASCAR-Picks-for-Darlington-2025-Best-Bets-Sleepers-Strategy-for-the-Goodyear-400.jpg

Hey race fans! Bryan here, and we’re heading to one of my all-time favorite tracks this weekend—Darlington Raceway, a.k.a. “The Lady in Black.”

This place is old-school, gritty, and flat-out tough. Between the egg-shaped layout and that rough surface chewing up tires like popcorn at a race party, you know we’re in for a show.

Let’s get to who made my roster for the Goodyear 400.

Who’s Hot: My Go-To Picks from the Top 12

If you’re in my fantasy NASCAR pool—or just looking to fine-tune your own lineup—you know the deal.

I’ve got my locked-in main driver, and I need to round out my lineup with 2 from the Top 12 in the standings and 3 drivers outside that Top 12. Here’s who I’m rolling with this week.

Tyler Reddick: My Season-Long Anchor in Fantasy NASCAR

Let’s talk about my main pick, Tyler Reddick—the guy I locked in at the start of the season and who’s coming into Darlington with the kind of quiet confidence I love.

If there’s one track that rewards guts and finesse, it’s The Lady in Black. And guess what? That’s right in Reddick’s wheelhouse. This is a guy who isn’t afraid to live on the edge—literally. He’s made a name for himself running right up against the wall, and Darlington is the wall-rider’s playground.

Last year, Reddick was a real threat here, leading 174 laps in the spring race before bad luck bit him late. That kind of dominance doesn’t happen by accident. He gets around this track with a rhythm that most guys never quite find. He knows how to manage tire wear, which is critical at Darlington where the surface chews up Goodyears like a cheese grater.

And let’s not forget—he’s running with 23XI Racing, a team that’s only getting better with each race. The equipment is there. The speed is there. And Reddick? He’s laser-focused. If he keeps his nose clean and avoids the chaos, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him contending for the win this weekend.

So yeah, no hesitation here. I’m all-in with Reddick at Darlington. He’s got the track record, the talent, and the momentum. Let’s see if the guy riding the high line can ride it all the way to Victory Lane.

Alright, so now that we’ve got my main man Tyler Reddick locked and loaded, it’s time to talk about the top-tier talent I’m adding to my fantasy lineup from the Top 12 in the standings. These are the heavy hitters who’ve been consistently delivering strong performances all season—and more importantly, they’ve got what it takes to tame Darlington this weekend.

The “Lady in Black” doesn’t mess around, and neither do these two. I’m banking on experience, momentum, and a little  magic to get the job done.

Kyle Larson (#5 – Hendrick Motorsports)

Kyle Larson at Darlington just feels right. The guy is a high-line wizard, and this track rewards that style like no other. He’s sitting 2nd in the standings with momentum on his side and is once again the betting favorite for a reason.

He hasn’t won here yet—but man, has he come close. We’re talking runner-up finishes and double-digit laps led kind of close. His ability to flirt with the wall (without angering it) makes him a nightmare for the competition and a dream pick in fantasy.

Fantasy Risk Level: 🟢 Low – Safe, consistent, and built for Darlington’s style.

Bryan’s Bonus Tip: If you’re in a league where bonus points are awarded for laps led, Larson is the guy to bank on. He’s been a lap-leader machine here and could help you rack up points even if he doesn’t win.

Denny Hamlin (#11 – Joe Gibbs Racing)

You can’t talk Darlington without talking Denny Hamlin. He’s got four wins at this track and always seems to be lurking when it matters most. Fresh off his dominant performance at Martinsville, Denny’s got the rhythm, the confidence, and the history to make some noise again this weekend.

He knows how to manage tires, pick his moments, and stay cool in the chaos—and that’s exactly what Darlington demands. When a race turns into a battle of who can outlast the rest, Hamlin is usually standing tall.

Fantasy Risk Level: 🟢 Low – Track history + current form = solid fantasy anchor.

Bryan’s Bonus Tip: Darlington races often turn into long green-flag runs. Hamlin’s tire management skills could make the difference late, so don’t be shocked if he sneaks into the lead in the final 30 laps.

Outside the Top 12: My Underdog Squad

Every fantasy lineup needs a little spice—drivers who aren’t necessarily the obvious picks, but who have the potential to sneak into the top 10 or even pull off a surprise win. These guys are flying under the radar in the standings, but I’ve got a good feeling they’ll deliver when it counts at Darlington.

Ryan Preece (#60 – RFK Racing)

Currently sitting 14th in the standings with 165 points, Ryan Preece has shown flashes of potential this season. Notably, he secured a third-place finish at Las Vegas, demonstrating his capability to run with the frontrunners. While his performance has had its ups and downs, Darlington’s challenging nature could play into the hands of a driver eager to make a statement.RACER

Fantasy Risk Level: 🟡 Medium – Preece has the talent, but consistency has been an issue.

Bryan’s Bonus Tip: If you’re looking to differentiate your lineup with a driver who has the potential to surprise, Preece could be your guy. His aggressive style might just pay off at Darlington.

He hasn’t had a breakout performance here yet, but he’s got the tenacity and edge to surprise the field. Plus, his average finish is trending in the right direction.

Fantasy Risk Level: 🟡 Medium – Boom or bust depending on how clean he keeps it.

Bryan’s Bonus Tip: Chastain is the guy to pick if you want to go against the grain in your pool. He can either wreck your week—or win it for you. If you’re chasing points, this is your move.

Kyle Busch (#8 – Richard Childress Racing)

Old Rowdy may not be setting the world on fire in 2025 so far, but this is Kyle Busch we’re talking about—and he’s never a bad idea at Darlington. He knows this track inside and out, and when he’s in rhythm, he can run up front with the best of them.

Sure, his fantasy value hasn’t been elite this season, but that just means he’s due. If anyone in this tier is going to shock us with a strong finish, it’s Busch.

Fantasy Risk Level: 🟡 Medium – A little unpredictable, but the upside is real.

Bryan’s Bonus Tip: Busch’s strength is adapting mid-race. If his crew nails the adjustments and strategy, watch out—he could climb fast in the second half of the race.

Josh Berry (#21 – Wood Brothers Racing)

Now here’s the sleeper pick I’m the most excited about. Berry’s not just holding his own—he’s already got a win this year and continues to prove he belongs. Darlington’s a tough track, but it rewards drivers who think two steps ahead, and that’s one of Berry’s strengths.

He’s not flashy, but he’s efficient—and that’s exactly the kind of driver who can quietly rack up a strong fantasy day.

Fantasy Risk Level: 🟡 Medium – Not a guarantee, but there’s upside if things fall his way.

Bryan’s Bonus Tip: If you’re in a deep league or trying to separate yourself from the rest of the pack, Berry’s your guy. He flies under the radar and could outscore more popular picks if he avoids the chaos.

Final Thoughts: Ready to Rumble at Darlington

So there you have it—my full fantasy lineup for the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. From dependable veterans like Reddick, Larson and Hamlin to wildcard picks like Preece, Rowdy Busch, and my dark horse favorite Josh Berry, I’m feeling good about this week’s mix of power and potential.

Darlington is the kind of track that chews up tires, demands patience, and punishes mistakes. If my lineup can survive the grind—and maybe catch a little luck along the way—we could be looking at a serious fantasy point payday.

But hey, even if the Lady in Black dishes out some bruises, I’ll be right back here after the checkered flag to break down how it all went down. Whether I nailed the picks or got wall-striped, we’ll talk winners, losers, and everything in between in my Goodyear 400 Race Recap coming early next week.

Until then, good luck in your fantasy pool—and remember: when in doubt, hug the wall and send it.
