Why? Because no pick is truly safe. You can do all the research in the world, study every stat, analyze every past performance… and still watch your entire lineup get wiped out in a multi-car wreck on Lap 15. It’s the equivalent of playing fantasy football and having your QB get injured in the first quarter.

That said, we’re here to maximize points, and I’m rolling with a lineup that balances smart picks, past success, and a little gut instinct.

My Fantasy Lineup for the Ambetter Health 400

Let’s break it down, driver by driver, because I know some of you are wondering why I left out certain big names (looking at you, Logano and Hamlin fans).

🔹 Bubba Wallace (#23 Toyota – 23XI Racing)

✔ Why he’s in my lineup: Superspeedway expertise. Bubba has built a reputation as a strong pack racer, and with Atlanta now running like a superspeedway, this track plays right into his strengths. He’s already proven himself with a Talladega win in 2021 and multiple strong Daytona performances. If he can stay clean, he’s got top-10 potential written all over him.

✔ 23XI Racing is on the rise. With Toyota’s powerhouse support and a direct alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing, 23XI is no longer just a mid-tier team—they’re capable of winning any given week. Wallace has had great speed on drafting tracks, and if he gets the right help in the pack, he could be in contention late.

✔ Fantasy Risk Level: Medium (Bubba thrives in pack racing, but superspeedway-style events always carry the risk of “The Big One.”)

🔹 Kyle Busch (#8 Chevrolet – Richard Childress Racing)

✔ Why he’s in my lineup: You know what? I almost left Busch out of my picks this week… but then I remembered that he finished 3rd here last spring and has two Atlanta wins.

✔ Why I like him at Atlanta: Busch has that “I don’t care what happens, I’m going for it” energy at superspeedways. That means he could win or crash trying—but either way, he’s gonna give me a shot at big points.

✔ Fantasy Risk Level: High (Boom-or-bust, but worth the gamble).

🔹 Justin Haley (#7 Chevrolet – Rick Ware Racing)

✔ Why he’s in my lineup: Call me crazy, but I’m taking a chance on Haley. He’s quietly one of the best pack racers, and his history at Atlanta and Daytona proves he knows how to work the draft.

✔ Why I like him at Atlanta: He’s had multiple top-10 finishes at superspeedways and even won a rain-shortened Daytona race back in 2019. If the field gets wiped out (which is very possible), Haley could sneak into a top-10 again.

✔ Fantasy Risk Level: Very High (But hey, that’s what makes it fun, right?).

Notable Drivers I Left Out (And Why)

❌ Denny Hamlin (#11 Toyota – JGR) – I know, I know. Three-time Daytona 500 winner, elite superspeedway racer… and I left him off my list. But hear me out—he hasn’t won at Atlanta since 2012, and I think other Toyotas are faster right now.

❌ Joey Logano (#22 Ford – Team Penske) – Too aggressive. Logano is either winning or wrecking here, and I just don’t trust him to survive until the end.

✔ I built this lineup for two things: speed & survival.
✔ Picking Blaney & Byron gives me strong “safe” plays with a high likelihood of finishing top 10.
